Lionel Messi, who shook the world, revealing the intention of leaving his boyhood club Barcelona in late August, has finally decided to take the u-turn with his decision. The 33-year-old Messi claims he’s staying because it’s difficult for any team to pay for his release clause of €700 million ($834 million), and he doesn’t want to face the club he loves in court.

The Argentine superstar, Messi, wanted to exercise the clause of his contract, which would allow him to leave on free. However, the Spanish footballing giants, Barcelona insist Messi should have informed them of his decision by June 10. In turn, Messi thought that the coronavirus pandemic meant that his final decision should be postponed until the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
On the other hand, Messi’s family emotion also played the part to change his decision. Particularly, in an interview with Goal.com, Messi disclosed that his family was against his decision to leave the city. He said that it was a brutal drama as he shared the thought of leaving Barcelona with his wife and children.
