Until that time, she was already taking care of her two sons, however, running in the film industry with her talent. The late-actress, Estelle Getty was a married woman. She remained married to her husband till his last breath. Her husband, Arthur Gettleman used to work in his father-in-law glass installation business. The love partners were the parents of their two sons; Carl Gettleman and Barry Gettleman. Estelle lived together with her husband in the Bronx for a time and after the birth of their children, they shifted to Queens. Till the last breathe of her spouse, Etty took care of him. At last, Arthur died at the age of 85 on 24th September 2004.
After the death of her spouse, Estelle got involved in HIV/AIDS activism and helped her co-star and nephew to fight with the disease. She was not only focused on HIV/AIDS activism but was also a socialist and did many things for the society.
