The numerous news and videos on the same topic are surfacing around. The more the videos the more it gets confusing. Hence this article tries to break down every little detail you want to know about the fuss going around.
Why did the authority take Syesha Mercado’s babies?
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office thrived to take legal action after a rigid conclusion and investigation. In March, an abuse hotline about a child at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital reached The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. According to Randy Warren, a public information officer of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the hotline confirmed that the child was suffering from severe malnutrition and may even fail to thrive.
Likewise, Warren also added that judge ordered the child, Amen’Ra (Mercado’s firstborn child) to be sheltered and receive treatment. However when the parents refused to cooperate. The child protective services had no option but to act forcefully with Syesha Mercado and the family. Furthermore, Safe Children’s Coalition took over the case and included the decision to shelter Mercado’s second child (daughter) as well.
Mercado’s take on the situation
Mercado’s heart is torn apart in pieces after both of her children were taken by the child protective services. According to NBC News, her daughter (only 10 days old) was taken during a surprise welfare check. Syesha explicitly manifested her anger saying, “How could you guys do this? Do you not feel anything?” The couple even posted the recorded footage on Instagram. “My baby is 10 days old and you’re taking my baby away from me. You’re taking my baby away from me. You have no heart. This is so wrong.” She blames CPS for “legally” kidnapping her children for no absolute reason. She says “On March 11th, our sun Amen’Ra was forcefully and legally kidnapped from us by CPS, who claim we refused a B12 shot that was a matter of life and death, which is an absolute lie.” “We never refused a B12 shot, and at no point was he on the verge of death.”
