Vincent Terrell Jackson was born on 14 January 1983 and a native of Colorado Springs and resident of South Tampa. He was the son of two military parents, Terence and Sherry who met in a boot camp. So his foundation’s mission is “to provide support to military families, focusing on the educational, emotional and physical health of the children.
Vincent Jackson lived with his wife of 10 years, Lindsey Vandeweghe, and has three children –Carter, Amaya, and Dominick. He was a professional American football player who was a wider receiver for Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. Jackson played for 12 years and retired in 2018. Vincent Jackson completed high school at Widefield High school (in Colorado Springs, Colorado) with a 4.1 GPA. Due to his excellent academic performance, he was accepted to Columbia University However, he chooses to attend the University of Northern Colorado on Scholarship. He also played for Northern Colorado Football Team and earned the honor as the punt returner.
The first time he touched a ball, he scored a ball on a punt against Adam state College. After that, he became the all-time leader of Northern Colorado’s, receiving yards, punt return yards and also receiving touchdowns. During his four-year campus, he used to play both football and basketball for the university. Altogether he played seven seasons with the chargers and finished his career in Tampa Bay, where he played five seasons. In his career he had overall, 540 Catches for 9040 yards with 57 touchdown receptions.
In 2016, he graduated with a Business Management degree from the University of South Florida.
Vincent Jackson was selected in San Diego chargers in the second round of the NFL draft 2005. He was inactive in the five games of the season due to injuries. On 16th October, finally, he made his team debut against the Oakland raiders.
On 17th September 2006, Vincent Jackson caught his first NFL touchdown in a victory over Tennessee Titans. After that, he played against the Seattle Seahawks. In that game, he made a memorable touch catch and end up the game-winning with 20-17. He made a Franchise record by winning the game. In a game against Oakland Raiders, nearly he made the most bizarre turnover in recent NFL.
In the 2007 season, Jackson played against the Chicago Bears. He entered as the wide receiver for the chargers.
He started his 2008 season as a career season. With 59 receptions, 7 touchdowns, and 1,098 yards. Vincent became the first Chargers receiving since 2001 as wide receiver ie. 1,000 yards
The 2009 season, followed a strong season as the pro. The season ended with 68 receptions, 9 touchdowns, and 1,167 yards. He is the first receiver to record 100 yards on the 2009 NFL season.
In the 2010 NFL Season, He selected the first Pro Bowl as an alternate. His record 7 reception, for 122 yards including a 48-yard catch and run for a Touchdown.
Due to personal conduction Policy, he was suspended for three games and on 1 July 2010. In 11 weeks of the 2010 NFL season, he finished the season with 14 reception and 248 Yards.
On March 13, 2012, he signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for five years. He was elected as the captain on 7th September. His 2012 season finished with 72 receptions and 1384 yards. He also records in a single game ie. Buccaneers records and the single longest reception during the 2012 season.
In 2013, he was selected as the team captain. He caught his first touchdown on 13th October 2013 in the game against Philadelphia Eagles. The 2013 season ended with 78 catches for 1224 yards and seven touchdowns.
The 2014 season declined Jackson catches and yards. He was the center of rumors before the trade deadline. However, the season ended with over 1,000 yards for the sixth time in his career.
Jackson’s number was further declining in the 2015 season. Due to place on the injured and inconsistent play. This resulted in the fewest catches i.e. 33 catches, 543 yards, and 3 touchdowns since coming to Tampa.
On October 18, 2016, he suffered from a knee injury in Week 5. However, he won against the Carolina Panthers.
On 17th May 2018, Vincent Jackson announced his retirement.
As a former professional footballer, Vincent Jackson made a huge amount of money from his career. He was living a luxurious lifestyle. On February 15, 2021, he was found dead at a hotel in Brandon after his family reported him missing. Since January 11 he had been staying at the hotel. On February 10 his family report was missing and the formal report was filed on February 11.
When hotel staff enter, assumed he was sleeping on Feb 13 and Feb 14 and again when the staff entered the room, Jackson has been sleeping in the same position. The staff call 911 at 11:37 a.m. February 15. Jackson’s family members have concerns, he has suffered from chronic alcoholism and other health issues, which contributed to his death.
