From her adopted father, she received her surname Dally-Watkins. Going to her educational background, she attended the Willoughby Girls High School in Sydney. Shortly after living in Sydney, she moved to her family in Tamworth in 1942 after an amidst threat of a Japanese invasion of Australia.

When June Dally-Watkinsn was spending her early life in Tamworth, she went for a photoshoot with the photographer, Jan Solomons. Jan was the one who suggested June’s mother to support her career in modeling. In order to make her career as a model, June moved back to Sydney and appointed for a job at Farmers Department Store. She was totally active in her career in the 1940s and following won the Australian Model of the Year Award in 1949.

Following, June Dally began the Southern Hemisphere’s first personal development school in Sydney. She helped in building etiquette and deportment to young women. She then established Australia’s first model agency and modeling school. In her whole life, she talked as a public proponent of etiquette and elocution.
