A Porsche driver allegedly involved in a deadly crash that took four Victoria Police officers’ lives has been identified as a mortgage broker, Richard Pusey. Pusey, 41, was taken into custody on Wednesday evening after he reportedly fled from the scene.
Following more than 12 hours of fleeing, he was arrested at Chemist Warehouse in Collingwood at 9.30 am on Thursday. Apart from facing charges for fleeing the scene of an accident, Pusey underwent a drug test that allegedly turned positive.

This morning, Pusey presented himself in the West Melbourne Police Station along with his lawyer. In particular, Victoria Police Commissioner Graham Ashton “strongly suggested he gets himself down to the nearest police station to present himself to assist with these inquiries.”
Details About The Accident; Facing Charges For Fleeing The Scene Of An Accident
The Mortgage Broker, Richard Pusey was pulled over on Melbourne’s Eastern Freeway in around 4.50 pm on Wednesday for driving at 140 km/hr. As police impounded his car, a truck traveling at 100 km/hr came off the freeway’s main lane, smashing into the four police officers who were standing in the emergency lane.

As a result, all of the officers died at the scene despite several bystanders stopping and attempting to revive them. Furthermore, the casualties losing life in an accident were leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Constable Glen Humphris, Senior Constable Kevin King, and Constable Josh Presley.

Although Morgage Broker, Richard Pusey ran away from the scene, he was later arrested form Chemist Warehouse in Collingwood at 9.30 am on Thursday. In addition, the perpetrator also underwent a drug test which came out as a positive. Additionally, Pusey has 13 previous felony charges against him, including allegations of robbery and criminal damage.

Victorian police chief Graham Ashton claimed Pusey had also taken pictures of the scene and posted them on Facebook. Pusey, who ran Switch Now Home Loans until July of last year, is an avid social media user who regularly uploads images and videos of his Porsche 911 racing.

Back on March 21, he was filmed speeding in the same lane in his Porsche car. Detectives are now interviewing Pusey who is trying to find the cause of the accident. The truck driver, who was in the hospital under police surveillance, experienced a medical episode after the incident.
