Lindsey Lagestee, the lead singer of the country music cover band Dixie Crush died this week because of the injuries she sustained in a tragic car accident in Chicago on Valentine’s Day. The bad announced the news with a note on Facebook this Wednesday.
They addressed to their fans, with the note:
“To our Dixie Crush family, aka the #CrushCrew, thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support these past few days,” the post read. “Some of you may have already heard the terrible news, but It is with the heaviest of hearts, we sadly share that Lindsey Renee passed away on Monday due to complications from the accident last Friday. Our hearts are broken over this senseless tragedy.“

Lindsey was hit by the car on her way to Valentine’s Day performance in Chicago. As soon as the accident took place, she was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, she died a few days later after struggling with the injuries she faced from the tragic accident.
Cause of Death: Car Accident
On 14th February 2020, Lindsey was hit by a car when she was on her way to perform in Chicago. One of her bandmates, Jim Nonneman told Taste of Country, a music publication that the accident took place when she was crossing the street.

In particular, Lagestee was on her way to the Firewater Saloon, where the band was scheduled to play on Feb. 14. Soon after the accident, she was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Later on 17 February, Lindsey died, due to the complications, she faced from the accident.
As per the Dixie Crush band member, Jim Nonneman, “She had just parked a couple of blocks down for the club we were scheduled to play.” he added “She exited her pickup truck and was making her way to the venue when she was struck by a car.“

Lindsey was born on May 17, 1994, in the United States. She died at the age of 25, due to the injuries complication she faced in a car accident on February 14, 2020. Additionally, she was survived by the Vaughn and Linda Lagestee and her three sisters, namely Carrie, Samantha, and Lauren.

“Like a true professional, it made no difference to Lindsey whether we were playing to 40,000 people at Arlington Racecourse, a few thousand people at Parkway Bank Park in Rosemont, a few hundred people at a community festival, or the last 25 patrons at 1:00 am at a club, Lindsey cherished every moment on stage and put her heart and soul into every song…every performance.“

The #CrushCrew group has expressed love with outstanding financial support over and above emotional comfort. In memory of Lindsey, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to support her family. Within a few days, its original target of $10,000 was far exceeded and to date donations totaling more than $16,000.

One of her colleagues, who once performed with Lindsey, expressed sorrow writing:
“My soul has been broken. I ache knowing that Lindsey is no longer with us.“
Moreover, her fans and followers are flooding her social account with emotional messages. One of her fans wrote,
“This is so heartbreaking! I’ve had the privilege of seeing y’all play a few times and am fan. Lindsey had the voice of an angel, and now she is an angel. I pray for peace and comfort to you all and her family and friends.“
Similarly, another added,
“Beyond heartbroken for all of you and this terrible loss. she was definitely the light in the room and I’m blessed that I was able to see her perform not too long ago~Prayers and love to you all.“

Lagestee obviously left many a lasting impression and will be missed. In this difficult moment, our thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved her.
