Award season has officially start to begin and we can’t wait to see our favorites getting honored for their acting.

Emmys have been given to the deserving candidates this year.

And now it’s turn for the 77th Golden Globes Award which will take place on 5 January 2020 In Beverly Hills.

As always, Golden Globes has announced the recipient of its first prize of the season: the coveted Cecil B. DeMille Award.

Golden Globe Awards as usual recognizes someone who has made a lasting impact on the film industry.

This year, one of the most versatile actor, also known as America’s dad, Tom Hanks will receive the Golden Globes Award.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Tuesday Morning that 63 years old Tom Hanks, will be the next recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

“For more than three decades, Tom Hanks has captivated audiences with rich and playful characters that everyone loves and admires so much,” said Lorenzo Soria, the organization’s president.

Tom Hanks will join the living legends Jeff Bridges, Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep and many other stars with this award.

For once we feel happy for him to receive the Golden Globes Award and at the same time we feel sad with the fact that he’s getting old.

Nevertheless, we feel so proud of Tom Hanks for being such a wonderful person and giving Hollywood so much than it actually deserves.

Tom Hanks made his movie breakthrough the movie Big in 1988.

And since then, he has never fallen down from the stairs of success in his entire career.

From Sleepless in Seattle, Saving Private Ryan, Forest Gump, Big, Philadelphia to many more, Tom Hanks has given some lifetime gifts to Hollywood.

Tom Hanks is a four-time Golden Globe winner who broke through with his role in the 1984 film Splash, in which he played a man who falls in love with a mermaid.

He received his first Golden Globes Award in 1988 for Big, where he portrayed character of a 13-year-old boy whose body turned into a 35-year-old man overnight after making a wish.

Tom Hanks has also won a couple Globes for Philadelphia and Forest Gump.

Other than the Golden Globes Award, this versatile actor has won 2 Oscar back-to-back as Best Actor in 1993 for Philadelphia and 1994 for Forest Gump.

Tom Hanks has also won seven Emmy Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards among others.

He is also a 2009 American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, 2014 Kennedy Center Honoree and 2016 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient.

 

His Upcoming Works

Tom Hanks’ had a hugely successful career spanning over 40 years on stage, screen and television.

In fact, he is already being tipped for more awards nods for his portrayal of Fred Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

The film is set for release in November, but fans cannot wait another minute to see the film about the lovable Mister Rogers.

So far, it has a 96 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which only serves to increase the anticipation of his fans.

Tom Hanks can truly do no wrong in the eyes of his fans and even the critics.

His other upcoming projects include the WWI drama “Greyhound,” which he wrote; the post-apocalyptic “BIOS”; and the post-Civil War film “News of the World.”

In 2017, Meryl Streep used the platform of Golden Globes to lambast President Trump’s immigration policies.

She said, “Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if we kick them all out you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts.”

Last year, Oprah Winfrey elected to address race relations and female empowerment as she became the first black woman to receive the award.

She noted how for too many years there had existed a culture broken by brutally powerful men.

Tom Hanks has been vocal on Twitter this week, addressing his followers the importance of registering to vote.

So, probably in the 77th Golden Globes Award, he will take the opportunity to address political issues.

We can’t wait to see him receiving the 77th Golden Globes Award and giving his inspiring speech as always.
