Early Life.

Gigi Hadid (real name Jelena Noura Hadid) was born on April 23, 1995, in Los Angeles, California.

She is the daughter of real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and a former model Yolanda Hadid (nee Van den Herik).

She has two younger siblings, sister Bella Hadid, and brother Anwar Hadid, who are both models.

Gigi also has two older half-siblings, sisters Alana Hadid and Marielle Hadid.

Apart from them she also has step-siblings Erin Foster, Amy S. Foster, Allison Jones Foster, Jordan Foster, Tamre Winger, and Brody Jenner (half-brother of Kendal and Kylie Jenner).

The supermodel is related to the Prince of Nazareth and the Sheik of Galilee Daher Al Omer through her father’s side.

Her father is Palestinian and her mother is Dutch.

Gigi Hadid was the captain of the varsity volleyball team and a competitive horseback rider while in high school.

She attended Malibu High School and graduated in 2013.

Hadid moved to New York after high school. There she studied criminal psychology at The New School.

She was also actively involved in modeling. Due to her budding modeling career, she suspended her studies in 2013.

Gigi’s Super Model Life.

Gigi knew what she wanted to do with her life at a very early age. At just two years old, Gigi was discovered by Paul Marciano of the clothing brand Guess.

She became the face of Baby Guess. Since she was only two, her priorities were different.

So, Gig stopped modeling and went back to school to complete her studies.

She turned back to modeling at the age of 16 and started working with Marciano again.

And in 2012 Hadid became the face of a Guess campaign.

Gigi signed to IMG Models in 2013 after moving to New York for higher studies. However, it didn’t go as planned.

After signing with IMG Models, one of the best modeling agencies, her modeling career took a turn for the best.

She made her runway debut at the 2014 New York Fashion Week, walking for Desigual’s show.

Apart from being a cover girl, Gigi Hadid has also shot editorials for magazines like Vogue, Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, Elle, etc.

In 2018 Gigi announced her partnership with Unicef in helping children around the world.

She visited Bangladesh on her first mission with Unicef for their programming in the country.

Gigi appeared in a short film in 2012 called Virgin Eyes. It was the Americal Film Institute conservatory thesis project. And appeared as herself in 2018 film Ocean’s 8.

She has also made appearances on different reality shows like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lip Sync Battle, and Masterchef.

In 2011 Gigi Hadid dated polo player Patrick Uretz. She then went on to date Nick Jonas in 2012. Their relationship was a little shaky and was an on-again-off-again couple.

She had a very publicized relationship with Australian singer Cody Simpson. She appeared on a couple of his songs and both appeared on several magazine covers together.

Hadid moved on from the Australian singer to English actor Daniel Sharman from Teen Wolf as they were rumored to be dating.

Another rumor was flying in 2015 stating that Gigi has a new beau. It was none other than formula 1 racer Lewis Hamilton.

In 2014, Gigi Hadid revealed that she had Hashimoto’s disease.

And in 2016, she was commended after defending herself after prankster Viitalii Seduik assaulted her.

She has been under cold water a couple of times for different reasons.

Hadid was denied a visa to China to attend the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion show. As she was accused of being “racist” after videos appeared of her mocking Buddha.

Hadid has also been sued a couple of times by photographers for uploading her pictures without credit.
