Quirky Habits that make you Smarter

quirky habits

We all have little things we do that makes us weird in a way. Some people might find it annoying but we learn to live with it.

Quirky habits don’t make you a weirdo. They are just some traits we catch along the way in life.

The meaning of quirky isn’t weird. It means that you have an eccentric or unconventional trait. And it’s not a bad thing at all.

People mostly get annoyed seeing people adapting these unusual habits. They don’t want to see you messing up their space along with yours.

But you can also possess some cute quirky habits. For example, wearing your glasses down to your nose while you’re reading, or blowing every type of food.

They don’t necessarily hurt you or anyone else as a matter of fact.

Quirky habits may seem weird and unusual but some of these habits actually make us smarter.

Here are some of the quirky habits that make you smarter.

Crying your hearts out.

Quirky Habits

Some people are such cry babies they tear up for tiniest reasons. It confuses when one starts crying their hearts out.

But this very quality in you can actually make you smarter. Don’t believe me? Well, don’t start crying and hear me out.

Crying is a perfect stress reliever. It lets you free your mind from whatever that’s eating you up.

Tears actually remove any stress-causing hormones from our body. On top of that, it also lowers the manganese level that regulates your mood.

Once you let all that emotion, you feel a sense of peace and calm which helps you clear your mind.

Even Steve Jobs cried whenever he wanted to. He mentioned it in his book that he would “cry incessantly” if he was frustrated. He also cried out happy tears whenever needed calling it a “purity of spirit”.

So, get your tissues ready and let that tear flow.

Taking a cold shower.

Nothing can beat the feeling of taking a nice cold shower after a hot and draining day. Since we don’t know what heaven is like, maybe this feeling is?

But you can’t even imagine touching cold water on a chilly winter day. It’s like punishing yourself for cracking a stupid joke no one understood at work.

However, cold showers are linked to boosting our mood and memory.

The shock from the cold water makes the blood travel to the core of the body. And as a result, it suffuses our brain and other vital organs in fresh blood.

Taking a cold shower, swimming or skinny dipping in cold water boosts up the functions of the brain and productivity.

With such a burst of energy, your mind stays active and an active brain is a smart brain.

Making Love.

Quirky Habits

As if people ever need a reason to get their freaks on under the sheets, well you just got one.

Having sex one-too-many times can actually make you smarter. Still, don’t go around beating the bush guys you need consent for it to happen.

Be that as it may, having sex is not just good for your physical health it’s also great for your mental health.

Sex reduces stress and produces chemicals and hormones that not only turn you on but also helps you think clearly.

On top of that, it improves your problem-solving skills and boosts your memory power.

Top that purity ring wearers.

Swearing like crazy.

I still remember students in school, especially boys getting punishments because they said bad words.

Every time we heard someone swear we blamed their parents and upbringing.

Fast forward to adulthood, not a day goes by without you swearing. Sometimes at people, sometimes at situations, and sometimes at yourself.

Turns out, it’s a good thing to cuss a lot of times. It might turn heads in disgrace, but if it makes you smarter why to care about others, right?

Swearing a lot is related to one’s linguistic ability. And the higher the ability, the higher the level of intelligence they possess.

Talking to yourself.

Quirky Habits

People might take you for insane if they see you mumbling and having an argument with yourself. To be honest, it does look a little weird.

It might not be a cute quirky habit, but this weirdness is what makes you smarter from the rest of them.

Talking to yourself helps reach a higher level of thinking. It increases your memories as well as your perception skills.

This helps keep the mind active and continue the flow of creativity inside you.

So, the next time someone calls you crazy seeing you talking to yourself, hit them with a hard-hitting question and get your “thug life” moment.

Lastly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being weird. Your cute quirky habits actually define you as a person and make you unique. So, go ahead and get your quirky on.
