Daft Punk: Our Pick of Their Best Live Performances In Three Decades

Daft Punk
We Rave You

Daft Punk, the helmet-wearing electronic music duo announced their split yesterday after making music together for three decades. The six-time Grammy-winning house music duo Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo started out in 1993. And in no time, they became one of the most influential artists in dance music history.

The French duo, always seen in custom helmets, suits, and gloves did not just change house music’s scene. In fact, they revolutionized live music. Daft Punk, the masked robots have been able to influence a number of artists as well as millions of their fans. But after almost thirty years of making music together, they announced their split in a bitter-sweet video “Epilogue.”

Even though Daft Punk had been actively making music for a long time, they’d rarely seen out in public. And despite having four studio albums, a soundtrack album, and a live album, they’ve toured only twice.

However, the pair have given some of the most stunning live performances in their career spanning three decades.

In order to celebrate Daft Punk and honor their legacy, we have come up with a list of some of their best performances.

Here is our pick of some of the best live performances of Daft Punk.

The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk (The Grammy’s, 2017)

The Weeknd had the opportunity to perform live with Daft Punk at the Grammy’s stage in 2017. They performed their smash hit “I Feel It Coming,” from Weeknd’s third studio album Starboy.

The Canadian artist collaborated with the French duo who were two of the producers of the album. The live performance on the Grammy’s stage in 2017 was one of the best Daft Punk performances even though they were the featuring artist.

Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams ft. Stevie Wonder (The Grammy’s, 2014).

Another incredible live performance by Daft Punk was when they shared the stage with Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder. The duo along with Williams and Wonders performed one of their biggest hits of the year as well as career, Get Lucky.

Concert in Japan (2007)

Daft Punk brought entire Japan on its feet (metaphorically) in 2007. The masked-robots played Robot Rock, Around the World, and Harder Better Faster Stronger three of their most popular songs as one. And it set the entire crowd soaring.

Coachella (2006)

Daft Punk went on what is now the duo’s final tour in 2007. The “Alive” tour officially began in June 2007, however, they first performed at 2006’s Coachella. They later included the 2006 performance as a part of the Alive tour.

The duo appeared in their classic helmets along with the robot outfit. And they played in front of a crowd of almost 40,000 people in the middle of the California desert.

Live at Vegoose (2007)

Daft Punk shared the stage with artists like Rage Against the Machine and Public Enemy at 2007’s Vegoose festival. The attendees of the annual Las Vegas Halloween music festival got to witness the French duo live and as entertaining as ever.

Here’s to wishing the amazing masked-robot duo a great future.
